Just because you get a divorce doesn’t necessarily mean you have to go to court. There are other alternatives. In this week’s #TipOfTheWeek video, Gathings Law Senior Partner, Honora Gathings, talks about an alternative dispute resolution called collaborative divorce.
A collaborative divorce allows parents and spouses to resolve their disputes between themselves informally with a team of trained attorneys, therapists, and financial planners rather than a judge. It creates a safe environment in which each party can freely express their feelings and positions. This process helps parties keep an open mind, communicate effectively with other parties, and control the outcome through measured negotiation.
If you need a divorce attorney or would like more information on the collaborative divorce process, call Gathings Law. We’re here to help you.
